The festival is open to all, providing access to art without cost. Taste of the Arts is an activity of Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne. Arts United is a local arts agency serving the 12 counties of Northeast Indiana through fundraising, grantmaking, business services, arts campus coordination, community development, and advocacy. During the French and Indian War, the Old Fort was a French outpost known as Post Miami. This weekend, the French and British forces clash for control of the area. In addition, fur traders, Native Americans, civilians, and soldiers will demonstrate daily activities. Experience the battles and infantry drills. Watch a cannon being fired. We are excited to announce summer hours for 2022!During the summer, the Old Fort will be open for tours June 1 through July 31, Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sundays 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. See Summer Hours under Upcoming Events for more information. HoursThe Old Fort is located on public park grounds. You can always wander around the grounds. However, the buildings are only open during events. There is a brochure available at the front gate with information about the history of the Old Fort. It explains how each building would have been used. Check here for a list of upcoming events. You can also view our Virtual Tour to learn more about the use of the grounds. Getting HereWe are located at 1201 Spy Run Avenue. The Old Fort is right over the bridge as you head north from downtown on Spy Run. Note: The bridge on Spy Run Avenue is under construction and is often down to one lane. Expect traffic delays when visiting the Old Fort. For the safety of our visitors, we strongly encourage you to park at Headwaters Park or Lawton Park. Otherwise, please use extreme caution when crossing Spy Run Avenue.
